STANDING RULE 92-1

Standing Rules: Standing Rules are written agreements passed by the Club at a regular meeting either as formal motions or as Standing rules and agreed to by a majority of the members present. They can be canceled or amended by the same voting procedure and are not By-Laws.

STANDING RULE 92-3

Rock Box: Active members will have an identification item that can be drawn for a drawing formerly called the Rock Box. It will be maintained by the Sergeant at Arms or His/her representative who will collect current donations and give it to the Treasurer. The drawing will be made by current or past Queen. The winner must be present and will receive the entire amount collected.

Monthly Socials: Monthly Socials will be held at the Ocean Hills Country Club on the fourth Sunday of each month. The Social Chair will develop the list of the members and the dates for which they are responsible (the Hosts). The “theme” and the decorations will be decided by the Host(s) responsible for that month. Hosts are encouraged to use existing decorations, but can purchase new ones as well. The hosts will purchase some simple foods: fruits, finger foods, salads. etc. The total budget for the decorations and the food is $100.00 

There will be a dance lesson taught by a professional teacher or by a club member from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. The cost for the lesson and the following social dance (from 7:00 to 10:00 PM) will be $7.00. The cost may change from time to time.

New Members: New member application will be presented by the Membership Chairperson at the monthly business meeting. Voting will take place normally at the following regular business meeting.

Queen Expense: Palomar’s reigning Queen will be reimbursed $250.00 for all the coronations she is attending as well as the Board Meeting. The incoming Queen will receive $250.00 for her Coronation, but no reimbursement will be paid to the outgoing Queen.

Music for Socials: Music for socials will be provided by the Music Director. Requests for special music by the hosts for mixers or other events must be reported to the Music Director at least three days in advance of the social event to allow programming planning time. Exhibitions will be reported also with music provided by the exhibitor or arrangements made with the Music Director. The music equipment will be connected and operated only by the Music Director. Others may assist in placing speakers with the consent of the music committee. Purchase of music to be paid for by the Club must be done by the Music Director. The Music Director will have final approval on the appropriateness of all music played at club socials.

Refreshments at Business Meetings: The Host(s) for the Business Meeting will be the same member(s) who will be hosting the Monthly Social for that month (See Standing Rule 92-4). The Hosts will be responsible for providing refreshments and cookies. The Club will provide the coffee pot, coffee and all paper goods.

STANDING RULE 93-3

Music Persons Fees: In consideration of and recognition for their service and sacrifice in support of the dance social functions of the Club, the Music Director and spouse (or escort) are excused from paying the entrance fee or bringing a food dish to the Club social dances, including New Year's Eve. In the event an alternate couple or person substitutes for the Music Director, they will be given the same consideration.

STANDING RULE 98-2

MEMBERSHIP

Petition for membership may be made to any member of the club by married and unmarried applicants of good moral character and age twenty one (21) or older. They must be sponsored by two members and their applications presented by the Membership Committee at a regular business meeting along with their initiation fee and first months dues. Nominees must have attended at least three club functions, prior to the presentation of their applications, at least one being a social dance. Membership requires a two thirds approval vote of the members present at the business meeting.
